Position: Area Manager

Location: Idukki, Kerala

Experience: 5+ years

Compensation: 40,000 to 50,000 per month

We are calling applicants for a results-driven Area Manager to join a well-reputed NBFC in Kerala. In this role, you will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining strict compliance standards, and overseeing branch expansion within the Idukki region. You will act as a key bridge between the Regional/Zonal management and branch operations, fostering a high-performing culture and ensuring the achievement of strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Planning & Development: Develop and monitor business strategies for the assigned area, conduct periodic performance review meetings with branches, and identify new business opportunities and customer segments.
• Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends and competitor activities to provide actionable business improvement insights and support strategic planning initiatives.
• Branch Expansion & Infrastructure: Assist in finalizing new branch locations, manage landlord negotiations, oversee infrastructure setup, and ensure the secure handling of branch assets and keys.
• Staffing & Team Management: Support the Regional/Zonal Manager in staff deployment, ensure adherence to staffing norms, and mentor a high-performing team to meet organizational goals.
• Operational Oversight: Conduct regular branch visits to ensure smooth operations, provide support for high-value customer interactions, and assist in recovery and NPA (Non-Performing Asset) management.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with company policies and audit requirements, monitor operational risks, initiate corrective actions, and report any suspicious activities or fraud.
• Coordination & Reporting: Maintain seamless communication with Regional/Zonal Managers and Head Office teams, ensure timely submission of reports, and implement directives issued by the Head Office.

Requirements (Must-Have Skills)

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in the financial services or NBFC sector.
• Proven track record in business development and operational management.
• Strong understanding of NPA management and recovery processes.
• Ability to conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
• Proficiency in team leadership and staff deployment strategies.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit standards within the financial sector.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for reporting to senior management.
• Any Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate (PG) degree.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Prior experience in branch expansion and infrastructure management.
• Strong local market knowledge of the Idukki region.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for business reporting.
• Experience in handling intrusion alarms and physical security protocols.
• Ability to manage high-value customer relationships effectively.
