About the Role
The UK, Germany, and Gulf nations are facing a critical shortage of skilled elderly care workers — and Indian candidates are increasingly among the most sought-after professionals in this space. Whether you are supporting residents in a UK care home, an elderly couple in a German Pflegeeinrichtung, or a family in Dubai, this role is about dignity, compassion, and genuine human connection. Sponsored visa opportunities and competitive international salaries make this one of the best pathways for Indian healthcare workers to build a global career.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist elderly residents or clients with daily living activities — bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and meal support
- Administer or assist with medication under the supervision of a nurse or care manager (where permitted)
- Monitor and record health observations — vital signs, mood, appetite, mobility changes
- Support residents with social activities, companionship, and mental stimulation
- Maintain a safe, clean, and dignified care environment
- Communicate clearly with family members, senior carers, and nursing staff
- Follow care plans accurately and report any changes in condition promptly
- Adhere to safeguarding, infection control, and manual handling protocols
✅ Must Have
- Minimum 1–3 years of care work experience in a hospital, care home, old-age home, or home care setting in India
- GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery), ANM, B.Sc Nursing, or a recognized caregiving diploma / certificate
- IELTS 6.0+ or OET B for UK roles | German B1 minimum for Germany | IELTS 5.5+ for Middle East roles
- A genuine passion for elderly care — empathy, patience, and respect for older adults
- Basic understanding of safe lifting, infection control, and personal hygiene protocols
- Clean background — no criminal record (DBS check / police clearance will be required)
- Physically fit and able to assist with manual handling
⭐ Nice to Have
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (UK), or equivalent Indian certification
- Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's care — extremely valued in UK and Germany
- German language above B1 — B2 or higher significantly increases Germany placement speed
- Driving licence — major advantage for UK community/home care roles
- Experience with electronic care plans or digital health record systems
- First Aid certification
- Prior international experience or training abroad
