Childcare Worker / Nursery Nurse / Au Pair

About the Role

Germany has a growing demand for qualified Erzieher/in (Childcare Workers and Nursery Educators) — and Indian candidates with ECCE qualifications and German language skills are increasingly competitive for these roles. In the UK, the expansion of funded childcare places has created a shortage of nursery nurses and early years practitioners. Gulf families continue to actively hire experienced Indian nannies and childcare workers for private household roles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide safe, stimulating, and nurturing care for children from infancy to age 12 (depending on role)
2. Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities — play, creative arts, storytelling, outdoor activities
3. Support children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development in line with the relevant curriculum (EYFS in UK, Bildungsplan in Germany)
4. Maintain safeguarding standards and recognize and report signs of harm or neglect
5. Communicate regularly with parents on child development and daily activities
6. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children
7. Support children with meals, hygiene routines, rest, and personal care
8. Work with special needs children inclusively where applicable

✅ Must Have

1. Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Child Development, or Nursery Nursing
2. Minimum 2–3 years of childcare experience — nursery, crèche, school, or private household
3. German A2–B1 minimum for Germany roles (B2 strongly preferred) | English fluency for UK and Middle East
4. Genuine love for working with children — patience, creativity, and warmth
5. First Aid and Child CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before departure)
6. Clean background — child protection police clearance will be required

⭐ Nice to Have

1. CACHE Level 2 or 3 (UK), or German Erzieher/in state recognition
2. Montessori, Waldorf, or Reggio Emilia training
3. Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
4. German B2 or above — opens full-time Erzieher roles in German kindergartens with full salary
5. Driving licence for UK home care or rural nursery roles
6. Additional languages — valuable for multilingual household roles in UAE/Saudi
7. Swimming, music, or sports qualifications for au pair or UHNW family roles
