About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Google Cloud Engineer to build, secure, and operate our production cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You will play a key role in designing, deploying, automating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure for a high-availability financial technology platform. Working closely with software engineers and security teams, you will help migrate applications to GCP, implement DevOps best practices, strengthen security, and ensure the platform remains reliable, scalable, and secure.
This is a long-term engineering role where you will own cloud infrastructure throughout its lifecycle—from implementation and automation to monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement.
Work Hours: Flexible with partial overlap with US Eastern Time
Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage Google Cloud Platform infrastructure
- Manage Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, and networking
- Configure production, staging, and development environments
- Monitor infrastructure availability, performance, and costs
Infrastructure Automation
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration
- Maintain reusable infrastructure modules
- Support infrastructure scalability and reliability
DevOps & CI/CD
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Manage Docker-based deployments
- Automate application deployments
- Implement deployment best practices and rollback strategies
Security
- Implement cloud security best practices
- Configure IAM roles and least-privilege access
- Manage Secret Manager and Cloud KMS
- Configure SSL/TLS, firewalls, logging, and monitoring
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and security hardening
Database & Platform Operations
- Support PostgreSQL databases and cloud migrations
- Configure automated backups and disaster recovery
- Monitor application and database performance
- Troubleshoot production issues and incidents
Monitoring & Reliability
- Configure Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging
- Build operational dashboards and alerts
- Improve system availability and performance
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
Documentation
- Maintain infrastructure documentation
- Create deployment guides and operational runbooks
- Document architecture changes and operational procedures

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Certifications
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer
- Google Professional Cloud Engineer
- Hashi Corp Terraform Associate
- Docker Certified Associate (Preferred)
