About the Role

This is a remote consulting position focused on understanding and quantifying the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) across the SAP enterprise platform value chain. You will play a key role in assessing AI's potential to transform SAP delivery lifecycles, from initial requirements gathering to ongoing support and maintenance. Your expertise will help identify automation opportunities, benchmark productivity improvements, and evaluate the evolving AI tooling landscape for SAP.

Key Responsibilities

• AI/GenAI Impact Assessment: Analyze the influence of AI/GenAI on the entire SAP delivery lifecycle, including:
  • Requirements gathering and analysis
  • Solution design and configuration
  • Development
  • Testing and test automation
  • Data migration
  • Deployment and release activities
• Automation & Efficiency: Evaluate AI applications within SAP package implementation projects to identify activities that can be automated, accelerated, or delivered with reduced Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) resources.
• Application Enhancement & Support: Assess AI use cases across SAP application enhancement and support, specifically for:
  • Incident resolution
  • Application maintenance
  • Enhancements
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Testing
  • Documentation and knowledge management
• Quantification & Benchmarking: Quantify or provide practical benchmarks for productivity improvements and potential FTE reductions across various SAP service work types.
• AI Use Case Differentiation: Distinguish between AI use cases with proven productivity benefits, those with emerging or validating benefits, and areas where AI adoption is constrained by technical, process, or governance considerations.
• AI Tooling Landscape Evaluation: Assess the AI tooling landscape relevant to SAP delivery, considering the applicability of:
  • SAP Joule
  • SAP-specific third-party AI tools
  • General-purpose Large Language Models (LLMs) / GenAI platforms
  • Other AI-enabled development and delivery tools
• Industry Best Practices: Provide insights into how leading IT services providers are integrating AI into their SAP delivery models.
• Future of SAP Delivery: Analyze how AI adoption is likely to reshape:
  • Delivery team structures
  • Role responsibilities
  • Skill requirements
  • Effort allocation
  • FTE requirements
  • Delivery economics
• Value Chain Mapping: Develop a detailed view of the SAP enterprise platform value chain, mapping AI opportunities to specific delivery activities and their associated productivity/FTE impacts.
• Case Team Support: Provide expert input to case teams through working sessions, interviews, analysis, and validation of hypotheses.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in SAP delivery, consulting, enterprise applications, or IT services.
• SAP Expertise: Deep expertise in SAP implementation and delivery, ideally across multiple SAP lifecycle stages.
• AI/GenAI Application: Demonstrable expertise in AI/GenAI applications within SAP delivery environments.
• Hands-on Understanding: Practical knowledge of how AI is being applied in:
  • SAP implementation
  • SAP configuration
  • SAP development
  • SAP testing
  • SAP data migration
  • SAP deployment
  • SAP application maintenance and support
  • SAP enhancements
• Productivity & FTE Reduction: Strong understanding of AI-driven productivity improvement and FTE reduction within SAP services.
• AI Tool Assessment: Ability to assess the maturity and effectiveness of various AI tools, including SAP Joule, SAP-focused third-party tools, and general-purpose LLMs.
