Role Overview

Knowledge Artisans (KA) is hiring a Level 2 Services Engineer (SDE2) with strong Ab Initio expertise to work as part of a self-organised Ab Initio engineering team.

The role involves designing and developing software features that are vital to the lives of credit card consumers, while working closely with Product Management and engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work within a self-organised Ab Initio engineering team
2. Design and develop software features using Ab Initio (GDE)
3. Deliver across the full software development lifecycle
4. Own a significant component, feature set, or mid-size application or service
5. Work towards goals and vision defined by Product Management
6. Resolve requirement-related questions from product managers and identify gaps
7. Perform hands-on programming using GDE and Unix scripting
8. Review code developed by peers and provide feedback against engineering standards
9. Drive engineering best practices including operational excellence, security, and quality
10. Advocate quality-focused approaches such as pair programming
11. Identify opportunities to improve delivery throughput and reduce waste
12. Estimate delivery timelines and justify implementation approaches
13. Work with CI/CD processes and understand Jenkins pipeline principles
14. Innovate within the team and contribute within the technical domain

Skills and Experience Required

Mandatory Skills

1. Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio (GDE)
2. Unix or Shell scripting
3. Experience delivering across the full SDLC
4. Knowledge of Agile practices
5. Awareness of Jenkins pipeline principles

Advantageous Experience

1. Awareness of AWS interactions and file storage
2. Core understanding of AWS Lambda programming
3. Experience solving real-world problems in a complex, regulated environment
