Executive Housekeeper

About the Role

In luxury hospitality, the rooms product is the guest's primary experience. The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that every suite, villa, and public space tells the story of the brand — impeccably clean, perfectly appointed, and filled with the kind of subtle detail that guests notice without knowing why. This role requires an obsessive eye for detail, strong operational leadership, and the ability to inspire a large, diverse team to take genuine pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead housekeeping operations across all room categories, suites, villas, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house
2. Manage a housekeeping brigade of 30–200+ staff — hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
3. Maintain brand standards and hygiene protocols across all areas, including LQA, Forbes 5-Star, and international brand audits
4. Manage linen management, laundry operations, and uniform services
5. Oversee in-room amenity management — luxury product placement, turn-down service, bespoke room setups for VVIP guests
6. Drive cost efficiency in housekeeping — chemical consumption, linen lifecycle, energy management
7. Coordinate closely with Engineering for preventive maintenance and room condition management
8. Handle guest feedback and complaints relating to room quality with urgency and professionalism

✅ Must Have

1. 12–16 years in housekeeping with at least 3–5 years as Executive Housekeeper at a 5-star luxury property
2. Strong knowledge of luxury brand standards — room presentation, public area grooming, linen quality
3. Demonstrated experience managing large teams across multiple shifts
4. Solid understanding of chemical safety, HACCP in housekeeping, and sustainable cleaning practices
5. Experience with room management systems — HotSOS, Knowcross, Opera HSKP module
6. Excellent attention to detail — a genuine obsession with quality and consistency
7. Hotel Management degree or diploma from a recognized institution

⭐ Nice to Have

1. Experience at internationally branded properties (Four Seasons, Oberoi, Taj, Marriott, etc.)
2. Pre-opening hotel experience
3. Knowledge of sustainable housekeeping practices — water conservation, biodegradable chemicals, linen reuse programs
4. Experience managing butler housekeeping for suite and villa products
5. Certification in infection control, allergen management, or hospital-grade sanitation (relevant post-pandemic)
6. Experience coordinating seasonal deep cleaning and renovation-phase operations
