About the Role
Product Management is one of the most sought-after career paths in tech — and it is notoriously hard to break into without experience. Graduate Product Management Trainee programmes are the golden ticket for fresh graduates who want to build the products millions of people use. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, design, data, and business — writing product specs, running user interviews, analyzing metrics, and making prioritization decisions that affect real users. It is hard, demanding, and one of the most rewarding career launchpads in the industry.
Programme Structure (Typical)
- Month 1–2: PM bootcamp — product thinking, user research, PRD writing, metrics frameworks, and competitive analysis
- Month 3–6: Shadow a senior PM on a live product — attend user calls, sprint reviews, and roadmap sessions
- Month 7–10: Own a small feature or problem area with a junior squad
- Month 11–12: Present a product case study to leadership — confirmation as Associate Product Manager
✅ Must Have
- Any engineering, computer science, or business degree — 2024 or 2025 pass-out
- Strong analytical and structured thinking — ability to break down complex problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English — you will write specs, Slack messages, and present to leadership constantly
- Genuine curiosity about how products work — ability to think from the user's perspective
- Basic data literacy — comfortable reading dashboards and interpreting metrics
- Awareness of current tech products, apps, and trends in India and globally
⭐ Nice to Have
- Any prior internship in product, growth, strategy, or consulting
- Experience conducting user research or customer interviews
- Technical background (engineering) — makes communication with developers significantly easier
- Knowledge of SQL for self-serve data analysis
- Familiarity with product frameworks — Jobs to be Done, North Star Metric, RICE prioritization
- A product you have built, shipped, or actively contributed to — app, website, college project
- Participation in case study competitions (Hult Prize, consulting competitions, PM case challenges)
