HR Business Partner – People Operations & Culture (India + US)
Location: Bengaluru (onsite/hybrid – confirm)
Experience: 4–7 years in HR, ideally in IT services or tech
Joining: Immediate to 30 days' notice preferred
Summary:
You will be the person employees and managers go to when something HR needs sorting out, and the person who makes sure it actually gets done. This is a hands-on, get-it-done job. You will run the day-to-day of People Operations across India and the US, keep BambooHR clean, and help Atlas build a culture people are proud of.
If you like fixing things, chasing the loose end until it closes, and learning how US and India HR actually work, this is for you.
What you will actually do
Run the employee lifecycle
- Onboard new joiners, including interns in batches: offer-to-join coordination, background check and drug test vendor, documents, BambooHR setup, IT access requests.
- Handle confirmations, promotions, transfers and exits: letters, last working day, asset return, access removal, and Full & Final follow-up with Finance until it closes.
- Reply to employment verification requests on former employees quickly and accurately.
Keep payroll and benefits moving
- Send clean monthly payroll inputs (joiners, exits, holds, changes) to Finance on time, for India and the US.
- Manage insurance and benefits additions, deletions and dependent changes with India and US providers and the US benefits broker. Support renewals and COBRA.
- Answer employee questions on PF, gratuity, 401(k), insurance and payslips, or get the answer from the right vendor.
Own the US HR admin with vendor help
- Be the day-to-day contact for the immigration attorney, tracking visa and green-card cases and keeping the tracker current.
- Coordinate US state payroll-tax registrations and notices with Finance and the payroll vendor, so nothing sits unanswered.
- Keep US forms and policies in order when employees move locations or states.
Run BambooHR like it is yours
- Keep employee records, reporting lines, time-off and timesheet rules accurate.
- Build the HR reports leadership asks for: headcount, attrition, leave, performance completion.
- Spot what can be automated or simplified in BambooHR and do it.
Build culture, not posters
- Run pulse surveys and eNPS, report the results honestly, and turn them into a short list of fixes.
- Do regular employee check-ins and handle grievances fairly and with discretion.
- Run recognition, celebrations and wellbeing programs on a small budget.
- Support Atlas's Great Place to Work journey: collect data, coordinate the survey and help close action items.
Stay audit-ready
- Keep HR documents, training completion records and policy acknowledgements ready for audits (ISO 27001 and similar).
You are a good fit if you
- Have 4–7 years of hands-on HR experience, with real exposure to payroll inputs, benefits and employee relations. Experience in IT services or tech is a plus.
- Have worked in BambooHR (or a similar HRMS) as an administrator, not just as an employee.
- Have worked with India and US employees, or are keen to learn US HR quickly. Experience with immigration, 401(k) or US benefits brokers is a strong plus.
- Are comfortable with some US time-zone overlap for calls (a few evenings a month).
- Write clearly, follow up without being asked, and stay calm when three things are urgent.
- Are resourceful. If you do not know something, you find out and you learn it fast.
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree (HR or business preferred).
How we will measure you
- Payroll inputs, joining and exit paperwork are accurate and on time.
- BambooHR data is clean, and reports go out when promised.
- Vendor and compliance items (benefits, visas, tax notices) never sit unanswered.
- Pulse survey participation and action closure improve each quarter.
- Employees say they know who to go to and that it gets fixed.
