Job Role - IT Procurement Lead

Department - IT

Role & responsibilities

The IT Procurement Lead is responsible for leading and executing IT procurement activities across the organization, ensuring timely availability of technology systems & services, cost optimization, vendor compliance, and alignment with business, security, and operational

requirements of a jewelry retail and manufacturing environment. The role supports IT governance, audit readiness, and efficient vendor management.


Key Responsibilities


Preferred candidate profile


IT Procurement Operations

  1. Lead end-to-end procurement of IT hardware, software, Mobile devices, licenses, cloud services, and IT services.
  2. Coordinate procurement activities for corporate offices, manufacturing units, warehouses, and retail stores.
  3. Ensure adherence to approved procurement policies, delegation of authority (DOA), and internal controls.

Vendor & OEM Management

  1. Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors, OEMs, system integrators, and service providers.
  2. Support vendor negotiations, pricing finalization, SLAs, AMCs, ATS, and renewal contracts under guidance of management.
  3. Maintain vendor performance metrics and conduct periodic vendor reviews.

Contract, Compliance & Audit Support

  1. Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing IT contracts, NDAs, SLAs, and rate agreements in coordination with Legal and Finance teams.
  2. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (GST, import/export norms where applicable), internal policies, and ISO standards.
  3. Provide procurement documentation and evidence for internal and external audits.

IT Asset & License Management

  1. Oversee procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets including servers, Cloud Vendors, end-user devices, POS systems, Mobile devices, networking equipment, CCTV, DVR/NVR, and security infrastructure.
  2. Ensure accurate tracking of IT assets, licenses, renewals, warranties, and disposal in coordination with IT and Finance teams.
  3. Support e-waste management and asset disposal in line with statutory and environmental guidelines.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  1. Support preparation and tracking of IT procurement budgets.
  2. Monitors spend, highlight variances, and support cost optimization initiatives.
  3. Assist Management with reporting on procurement status, savings, and vendor commitments.

Business Alignment

  1. Support procurement for jewellery-specific systems such as ERP, POS, inventory management, RFID, weighing scales, hallmarking, and surveillance solutions.
  2. Ensure timely procurement support for new store rollouts, expansions, and IT refresh programs.
  3. Work closely with IT Infrastructure, Security, Retail Operations, and Finance teams to align procurement with project timelines.


Key Skills & Competencies

  2. Knowledge of IT infrastructure, retail systems, cybersecurity tools, and enterprise applications.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  2. MBA / Postgraduate Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations (preferred).


Experience

  1. Min 8 years of experience in IT procurement, vendor coordination, or technology sourcing.
  2. Exp in retail, jewellery, manufacturing, multi-location enterprises are preferred.
  3. Exposure to large IT environments with structured procurement and audit processes.



Preferred Certifications/Expertise (Optional)

  1. ITIL / ISO 27001 awareness
  2. CPSM / CIPS (preferred)
  3. Microsoft D365
