About the Role

We are looking for strong and self-driven Java Product Engineers to join an agile engineering squad. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, reviewing, and deploying high-quality product features while collaborating closely with other engineers and stakeholders.

The role requires someone who is technically strong, comfortable working independently, passionate about learning, and able to leverage modern development tools—including AI-assisted coding and code-generation tools—to improve engineering productivity and delivery quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Envision, design, develop, test, code review, and deploy software solutions within defined timelines.
2. Develop scalable and maintainable applications using Java technologies.
3. Design and implement REST APIs and microservices-based solutions.
4. Participate actively in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
5. Translate functional and technical requirements into robust software solutions.
6. Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
7. Develop unit tests and automated service/API tests to ensure product quality.
8. Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
9. Build deep technical expertise in assigned technologies while developing a strong understanding of the relevant business/domain areas.
10. Work effectively within self-driven Agile squads and contribute to predictable, high-quality delivery.
11. Design and implement solutions using AWS cloud services.
12. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
13. Identify repetitive development and operational activities and automate them using scripts, tools, and engineering solutions.
14. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery predictability.
15. Use code-generation and AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar platforms.
16. Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, frameworks, platforms, and engineering practices.
17. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver effective solutions.
18. Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, automation, quality, and engineering standards.

Required Technical Skills

Java Development

1. Strong hands-on experience in Java application development.
2. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and enterprise application development.
3. Experience designing and developing scalable and maintainable Java solutions.

Microservices & API

1. Hands-on exposure to Microservices architecture.
2. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
3. Understanding of API design principles, integration patterns, and service-oriented architectures.

AWS

1. Experience working with AWS-based solutions.
2. Good understanding of cloud-based application development and deployment.
3. Exposure to AWS services and cloud-native architecture is preferred.

CI/CD & DevOps

1. Hands-on experience with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
2. Understanding of build, deployment, automation, and continuous integration practices.
3. Experience automating development or operational activities using scripts and tools.

Testing

1. Experience writing unit tests.
2. Experience developing automated service/API tests.
3. Strong focus on code quality, reliability, and test automation.

Frontend – Value Add

1. Exposure to Angular or other modern frontend technologies will be an advantage.
2. Ability to understand frontend-backend integration is desirable.

AI-Assisted Development

1. Experience using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI/code-generation tools.
2. Willingness to incorporate AI-assisted development into day-to-day software engineering activities.
3. Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining code quality, security, and engineering standards.

Preferred Domain Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following domains will be preferred:

1. Retail
2. E-commerce
3. Digital products/platforms
4. Airline / Aviation
5. Passenger Service Systems (PSS)
6. Travel technology or other large-scale consumer-facing digital platforms

Digital & Emerging Technology Exposure

Candidates with a strong interest in learning and working across emerging digital capabilities will be preferred.

5–9 years of relevant software engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in Java development.

5. Automated testing frameworks.
6. Retail, e-commerce, airline, travel, digital or PSS domain experience.
7. Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable AI-assisted development tools.
