We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on mission-critical applications in the Capital Markets domain.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java backend development, microservices architecture, API development, and distributed systems. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
2. Build and optimize scalable RESTful APIs and microservices that support high-volume transactional systems.
3. Develop robust backend solutions for Capital Markets and financial services applications.
4. Design and implement event-driven architectures using messaging systems, queues, and asynchronous processing frameworks.
5. Work with WebSocket-based communication mechanisms to support real-time data streaming and event processing.
6. Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
7. Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security across environments.
8. Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and solution planning.
9. Optimize database design, query performance, and data access strategies.
10. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
11. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and deployment automation.
12. Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
13. Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
14. Support modernization initiatives and continuous improvement of backend architecture.

Must-Have Skills

Technical Skills

1. 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development using Java technologies.
2. Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and backend application development.
3. Extensive experience designing and developing high-performance REST APIs and microservices.
4. Solid experience working with SQL-based relational databases.
5. Strong understanding of backend architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
6. Experience with messaging systems, queues, and event-driven architectures.
7. Hands-on experience with WebSocket-based communication.
8. Strong understanding of application performance tuning, scalability, and security best practices.
9. Experience working across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
10. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment strategies.
11. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support experience.
12. Proficiency in source control systems and modern software development practices.

Domain Experience

1. Mandatory experience in the Capital Markets domain.
2. Understanding of trading systems, market data processing, financial transactions, or investment platforms is highly preferred.

Educational Qualification

1. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

3. Experience with cloud-native application development and containerized environments.
