MS SQL Server Developer (Azure, DevOps, GIT)

As we continue to enhance our solutions with cloud and data-driven capabilities, we are seeking an experienced MS SQL Server Developer to join our growing team in India. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SQL Server databases, supporting DevOps workflows, and integrating Azurebased solutions that drive our global data operations.

ROLE PURPOSE

As an MS SQL Server Developer, you will design and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. You will collaborate with development and DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, support cloud migrations, and ensure that data processes meet performance and security requirements. This role requires hands-on experience with SQL Server development, Azure, and Git-based version control systems.

KEY FOCUS

• • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• • Optimize database performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and refactoring.
• • Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment (Azure DevOps preferred).
• • Collaborate with developers and data engineers to support data integration and transformation processes.
• • Administer Azure SQL Databases, configure backups, and monitor performance metrics.
• • Work with Git for version control and database change tracking.
• • Ensure data security, compliance, and high availability in production environments.
• • Participate in architecture reviews and propose improvements to database design and automation workflows.

COMPETENCIES:

• • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• • 5+ years of professional experience in SQL Server database development and optimization.
• • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, indexing, query optimization, and schema design.
• • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Services, or related cloud technologies.
• • Proficiency in DevOps CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• • Experience with Git-based workflows for version control.
• • Understanding of database backup, restore, and high-availability strategies.
• • Strong understanding of data modeling and relational design principles.
• • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.

EXPERIENCE, CAPABILITIES AND BEHAVIORS:

Must have professional/ technical qualifications

• • Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines or GitHub Actions for database automation.
• • Familiarity with PowerShell or Python scripting for automation is a plus.
• • Understanding of data governance and security standards.
• • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate are advantageous.
• • Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions is a plus.
