About the Role:
We are calling applicants on behalf of a multinational conglomerate specializes in developing, managing, and leasing high-profile commercial spaces, particularly focusing on shopping malls, hypermarkets, and mixed-use retail developments. They are looking for a Planning Engineer, a crucial member of the Projects team, reporting to the Project Manager. This role is responsible for the comprehensive preparation, monitoring, and control of project schedules to ensure the timely and efficient execution of construction activities. You will be instrumental in project planning, resource scheduling, progress monitoring, delay analysis, and reporting, while coordinating effectively with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to achieve project objectives within approved timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Develop baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, and activity sequencing.
- Prepare master schedules, look-ahead schedules, recovery plans, and catch-up programs.
- Coordinate with project teams during project planning and mobilization.
- Project Monitoring & Control:
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress against approved schedules.
- Track critical activities and identify potential delays and schedule risks.
- Analyze project performance using planned vs. actual progress.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to maintain project timelines.
- Resource Planning:
- Prepare manpower, equipment, and material deployment schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement and site teams to ensure timely resource availability.
- Monitor resource utilization and productivity.
- Progress Reporting:
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Develop project dashboards, S-curves, histograms, and KPI reports.
- Present schedule updates during project review meetings.
- Maintain project planning documentation and records.
- Cost & Time Control:
- Support project cost monitoring by integrating schedule and cost information.
- Assist in tracking project budgets against work progress.
- Monitor earned value indicators where applicable.
- Support preparation of cash flow forecasts linked to project schedules.
- Risk & Delay Analysis:
- Identify scheduling risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Perform delay analysis and impact assessments.
- Assist in extension of time (EOT) claims and supporting documentation.
- Maintain risk registers related to project schedules.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, procurement, and project teams.
- Participate in project coordination meetings.
- Ensure planning information is communicated accurately across stakeholders.
- Support management in decision-making through timely project insights.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain all planning documents, revisions, and project records.
- Ensure compliance with contractual planning requirements.
- Follow company project management procedures and reporting standards.
- Support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 2–3 years of experience in construction, infrastructure, or real estate project planning.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial developments, mixed-use projects, or residential developments.
- Preferred Certifications: Certification in Primavera P6 is preferred. PMP or Project Management certification will be an added advantage.

- Keralite preferred.
- People based out of Cochin or willing to be based in Cochin for the long term are preferred.
Salary: 40,000 per month
