Job Title: Procurement Executive / Senior Procurement Engineer

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain Industry: Wiring Harness Manufacturing

Experience: Minimum 4+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement professional with strong exposure to the wiring harness industry. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for material planning, purchasing, price negotiation, and vendor development to ensure uninterrupted production, cost optimization, and quality compliance.

Responsibilities

Planning & Purchasing:

• Plan and procure raw materials, components, and consumables as per production schedules and customer

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline.

• Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams for optimum stock control.

Vendor Development & Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors for wiring harness components such as wires, terminals, connectors, sleeves, tapes, and related materials.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and cost competitiveness.
• Conduct vendor performance reviews based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service.

Price Negotiation & Cost Control:

• Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with suppliers.
• Work towards cost reduction through alternate sourcing, localization, and value engineering.
• Support management with cost analysis and market price trends.

Quality & Compliance:

• Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams for supplier approvals and material validations.
• Ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications, quality standards, and customer

• Handle supplier quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.

Documentation & Coordination:

• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up for timely deliveries.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier agreements, and pricing data.
• Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification and timely payments.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of wiring harness materials and components.
• Hands-on experience in planning, purchasing, negotiation, and vendor development.
• Proficiency in SAP (MM module preferred) for procurement, inventory control, and vendor management.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple suppliers.
