Who We’re Looking For

Knowledge Artisans (KA) is looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer (SDE2) with strong Ab Initio experience to join our engineering team in Chennai.

This role is ideal for engineers who want to:

  1. Work on enterprise-grade data platforms
  2. Own modules and features end-to-end
  3. Write high-quality, production-ready code
  4. Learn from senior engineers while mentoring juniors
  5. Solve real-world data engineering problems

What You’ll Do

  1. Design, develop, test, and deploy Ab Initio-based data solutions
  2. Work across the full software development lifecycle
  3. Create and review unit test cases and ensure code quality
  4. Contribute to low-level design (LLD) for multiple components
  5. Identify, debug, and perform root cause analysis for defects
  6. Optimize performance, cost, and delivery using Agile practices
  7. Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps teams
  8. Mentor junior developers and drive engineering best practices

Skills We’re Looking For

Must Have

  1. 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio (GDE)
  2. Strong Unix or Shell scripting skills
  3. Solid understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Engineering
  4. SQL and DBMS knowledge
  5. Experience working in Agile teams

Nice to Have

  1. CI/CD exposure (Jenkins preferred)
  2. Performance tuning and testing experience
  3. Exposure to AWS (S3, file storage, Lambda basics)
  4. Experience in BFSI or regulated enterprise environments
