About the Role

A world-class Sommelier is a rare find in India — and luxury hotels are willing to pay significantly above market to secure the right talent. We are sourcing certified Sommeliers for India's finest 5-star and 7-star properties. This role is not just about wine service — it's about creating elevated sensory experiences, building trust with high-net-worth guests, and positioning the property's wine program as a genuine differentiator. If you can make a guest's choice of wine feel personal, memorable, and inspired, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Curate, maintain, and continuously evolve the property's wine list — covering Old World, New World, Indian wines, and premium vintages
  2. Provide tableside wine service — recommendations, food pairing, decanting, glassware selection
  3. Conduct wine tastings, pairing dinners, and masterclasses for hotel guests and corporate clients
  4. Manage the wine cellar — inventory, storage conditions, procurement, and vintages
  5. Train F&B staff on wine basics, service etiquette, and upselling techniques
  6. Work closely with the Executive Chef to align wine programs with seasonal menus
  7. Build relationships with wine importers, distributors, and premium wine brands
  8. Drive beverage revenue through wine upselling and curated pairing experiences

✅ Must Have

  1. WSET Level 3 or higher (WSET Diploma / CMS Certified Sommelier preferred)
  2. 5–10 years of experience in wine service, with at least 2–3 years as Sommelier in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
  3. Deep knowledge of major wine regions — Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Tuscany, Napa, etc.
  4. Strong food and wine pairing expertise across multiple cuisine styles
  5. Excellent guest communication skills — ability to simplify wine for all knowledge levels while impressing connoisseurs
  6. Experience managing a wine cellar and procurement

⭐ Nice to Have

  1. CMS Advanced Sommelier or Master Sommelier qualification
  2. Knowledge of Indian wines (Sula, Grover Zampa, York Winery, Fratelli)
  3. Exposure to sake, whisky, or premium spirits pairing
  4. Experience conducting guest-facing wine events and masterclasses
  5. Prior work at internationally renowned wine destinations or Michelin-starred restaurants
  6. Multilingual capability — ability to communicate with international guests in French, Japanese, or other languages
  7. Strong social media presence or personal brand in the wine/beverage space
