Job Title Vice President & Head of IT - Data Science, Applications & Infrastructure Location Gurgaon, India (Onsite Relocation Required - Non-Negotiable) Industry Power Energy Utilities Experience 18-20 Years Role Level Vice President (IT Head) Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Vice President & Head of IT to lead enterprise-wide technology across Data Science & Data Engineering, IT Applications, and Infrastructure & Cybersecurity for a large organization in the Power Energy sector. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing the organization's IT and digital vision, embedding data-driven decision-making, modernizing enterprise applications, and ensuring resilient, secure, and compliant IT infrastructure for a critical-infrastructure environment. The role requires hands-on leadership exposure across all three pillars and the ability to partner closely with CXOs, business leaders, and regulators. Core Pillars of the Role (Mandatory) 1. Data Science & Data Engineering Lead and scale enterprise data science, data engineering, and advanced analytics platforms. Key focus areas include: Predictive maintenance Demand forecasting Asset performance optimization Energy efficiency and loss reduction Responsibilities include: Ownership of data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, real-time streaming systems) Oversight of AI ML model deployment in collaboration with business teams Data governance, data quality, security, and regulatory compliance Driving data-driven transformation programs with direct leadership ownership (not vendor-only oversight) 2. IT Applications Own the end-to-end enterprise applications landscape, including: Core business and operational applications ERP and enterprise systems Analytics-integrated applications Key responsibilities: Application modernization, integration, and scalability Strong SDLC, DevOps, and application security practices Delivery governance, reliability, and performance Alignment of application roadmaps with business strategy 3. Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Own and govern the organization's end-to-end IT infrastructure, including: Data centers and hybrid cloud environments Networks, storage, backup, DR, and end-user computing Cybersecurity responsibilities include: Enterprise security strategy and risk management Regulatory compliance and audits Incident response and cyber resilience High availability and business continuity for critical infrastructure systems Key Responsibilities Define and execute the enterprise IT and digital strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements Act as a strategic partner to CXOs and senior business leadership Lead large, multi-disciplinary teams across data, applications, infrastructure, and security Manage strategic vendors, system integrators, and technology partners Own IT budgets, CapEx OpEx optimization, and ROI tracking Establish strong IT governance, PMO frameworks, and delivery discipline Drive enterprise-scale digital and data transformation programs Mandatory Experience & Skills 18-20 years of overall IT experience with senior leadership roles Proven leadership exposure across all three domains : Data Science & Data Engineering IT Applications Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Prior experience in Power, Energy, Utilities, or Heavy Infrastructure sectors (strongly preferred) Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise-scale transformation initiatives Strong stakeholder management skills at CXO and Board levels Experience managing large teams, complex vendor ecosystems, and mission-critical environments Location Requirement Base location: Gurgaon Candidates must be currently based in Gurgaon or clearly willing to relocate (mandatory) Education B. Tech B. E.
