About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Branch Manager specializing in Gold Loan operations to lead our branch in Calicut. In this role, you will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring the integrity of gold appraisal processes, and maintaining high standards of branch administration. You will lead a team to achieve ambitious portfolio targets while managing risk and ensuring excellent customer service. This position is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in gold loan operations and a strong track record in financial portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
- Gold Loan Disbursals: Drive new customer acquisition, loan disbursals, and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual business volume targets.
- Portfolio Health: Build and maintain a healthy, profitable gold loan book while ensuring low non-performing assets (NPAs).
- Renewals & Collections: Manage timely loan renewals, interest collections, and oversee overdue/recovery follow-ups.
- Cross-Selling: Promote allied financial products, including insurance, gold coins, vehicle loans, fixed deposits (FD), recurring deposits (RD), and loans against property (LAP).
- Gold Valuation & Purity Checks: Ensure accurate purity testing, weight verification, and secure appraisal of all pledged gold assets.
- Branch Administration: Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and audit requirements.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise branch staff to ensure high productivity and adherence to operational standards.
Requirements (Must-Have Skills)
- Proven experience in Gold Loan operations and branch management.
- Expertise in gold purity testing and appraisal techniques.
- Strong understanding of loan portfolio management and NPA control.
- Proficiency in financial product sales and cross-selling strategies.
- Ability to manage collections and recovery processes effectively.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and business reporting.
- Local market knowledge of Calicut.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience in managing diverse financial portfolios (LAP, Vehicle Loans, Deposits).
- Certification in gold appraisal or jewelry valuation.
- Advanced proficiency in Banking/NBFC software and CRM tools.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills within the local community.
- Prior experience in audit compliance and regulatory reporting.
