About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Branch Manager to lead our gold loan operations in Thalassery, Kannur, Kerala. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily branch administration, driving business growth, and ensuring the highest standards of gold valuation integrity. This position is ideal for a professional with 1-2 years of experience in the gold loan sector who is fluent in Malayalam and possesses a deep understanding of the local market.

Key Responsibilities

• Gold Loan Disbursals: Drive new customer acquisition and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual loan disbursal targets.
• Portfolio Health: Build and maintain a profitable gold loan book while proactively managing and minimizing non-performing assets (NPAs).
• Renewals & Collections: Oversee the timely processing of loan renewals, ensure consistent interest collections, and manage recovery follow-ups for overdue accounts.
• Cross-Selling: Actively promote and sell allied financial products, including insurance, gold coins, vehicle loans, fixed deposits (FD), recurring deposits (RD), and loans against property (LAP).
• Gold Valuation & Purity Checks: Ensure strict adherence to protocols for purity testing, weight verification, and the secure appraisal of all pledged gold assets.
• Branch Administration: Manage daily branch operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure a high level of customer service excellence.

Requirements (Must-Have Skills)

• 1-2 years of professional experience in the gold loan industry.
• Fluency in Malayalam (Mandatory).
• Residency in or strong familiarity with the Kerala market.
• Proficiency in gold appraisal, purity testing, and weight verification techniques.
• Strong understanding of loan portfolio management and NPA reduction strategies.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales and business volume targets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer relationship management.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience in cross-selling financial products like insurance or fixed deposits.
• Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills for monitoring branch performance metrics.
• Ability to handle high-pressure environments and meet strict operational deadlines.
